Farewell Facebook

Last week I did something I've been thinking about doing for almost a year. I deactivated my Facebook account.

I didn't do this because I have had negative experiences (well, except for one former 'friend' who used very distasteful language) and I know many people use Facebook successfully to stay in touch with family and friends around the world. For them, Facebook is fantastic!

I did this because at the beginning of 2015 I decided I would only be involved in activities about which I am passionate, and I'm afraid Facebook just isn't one of those. In fact, the only reason I joined all those years ago was because of a school reunion. Last year I opted out of LinkedIn and I have to say I haven't even noticed its gone.

In 2015 I want to concentrate on writing and blogging - more regularly. I already have several articles due for publication this year and this is where my priorities are. I want to spend my time reading, researching and writing - after all, that's what I'm really passionate about... as well as looking after my five beautiful hens of course.

And of course I'll be in touch with all my friends - you're only an email away!
